One person killed in Highway 1 collision near West Main Street in Santa Maria

Santa Maria, CA. – One person was killed in a collision involving a semi-truck on Saturday morning in Santa Maria.
According to the Santa Barbara County (SBC) Fire Public Information Office, the accident happened around 6:29 a.m. on Highway 1 south of West Main Street.
A passenger vehicle reportedly collided with a semi-truck in unclear circumstances. The impact of the collision sent both vehicles off the roadway.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was killed in the accident.
The driver of the semi-truck is uninjured.
The Guadalupe and Santa Maria Fire Departments, and the California Highway Patrol responded to the incident.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
