At least one person died in a crash involving two vehicles on SR 4 near Railroad Avenue in Contra Costa, according to the California Highway Patrol

Contra Costa, CA – At least one person was killed in a car accident that happened near Pittsburg early Monday morning.
At around 2:57 a.m., the California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a traffic collision on eastbound Highway 4 near Railroad Avenue.
The officers who responded to the incident recovered two vehicles at the accident scene. The events leading up to the accident, however, were not immediately established.
Authorities say at least one person was killed in the accident.
The name of the deceased person was not immediately disclosed.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
