1 Killed in Car Accident on Silverado Trail near Yountville Cross Road in Napa

Napa, California (October 30, 2023) – A man was killed in a head-on collision on Monday morning in Napa.

The accident was reported around 9:28 a.m. on Silverado Trail near Yountville Cross Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A 57-year-old Napa man was driving a 1995 Toyota sedan southbound when he drifted into the opposite lanes and collided head-on with a three-axle 2014 Keniworth with a flatbed trailer driven by 36-year-old Mauricio Caballero of Mendota. The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to overturn onto its roof.

The unidentified man was taken by American Medical Response ambulance to Providence Queen of the Valley Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

31-year-old Raul Ortiz was riding in the Toyota and was transported to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Caballero was unhurt.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
