1 Killed in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach

Long Beach, CA – One person was killed and two others injured in a violent multi-vehicle collision that left one car split in half on Monday evening in Long Beach.

The accident happened in the 1000 block of Pacific Coast Highway near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard at around 5:50 p.m. according to the Long Beach Police Department.

At least three vehicles were involved, but the events leading up to the crash were not immediately determined. The impact of the crash caused one of the cars to split into two and a man was ejected from one of the cars.

The man landed near the 7-Eveven entrance and was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of the drivers was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another driver was treated by paramedics at the scene.

Speed played a big role in the crash, police said.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
