The driver of the Jeep and the baby suffered major injuries and were taken to an area hospital for treatment
Merced County, CA. – One person was killed in a head-on collision that left several other people injured in on Friday evening in Los Banos.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. on Interstate 5, south of Highway 165.
A man was driving a Jeep southbound on 5 Freeway when he crossed the center median into the northbound lane for unknown reasons and collided head-on with a Dodge.
A woman and baby in the Jeep were ejected.
The woman later succumbed to her injuries.

The man driving the Dodge and a woman were also hospitalized with major injuries.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
