Sacramento, CA.- One person was killed in a car crash in Sacramento on Monday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck occurred on Interstate 80 near I-5 just before 4:25 p.m.
A pickup truck was traveling westbound on I-80 when it failed to stop for traffic ahead and slammed into a stopped Toyota Tacoma.
This caused a chain-reaction collision involving three other vehicles.
At least three vehicles caught fire following the accident.
The driver of the Tacoma was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other parties were hospitalized with minor to moderate injuries.
The westbound lanes of the interstate were shut down as crews worked to clear the scene.
No further details were released.
