1 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash on 405 Freeway at Sherman Way in Van Nuys

Van Nuys, California (October 30, 2023) – At least one person was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving a wrong-way vehicle early Monday morning in Van Nuys.

The fatal crash happened on the 405 Freeway at Sherman Way at around 5 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

Initial reports indicate that a wrong-way driver may have slammed into the center divider before it was struck by several vehicles.

CHP says one person was killed in the accident.

The victim was not immediately disclosed.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
