, CA – A woman was killed after a police pursuit ended in a crash at La Palma Avenue in Fullerton Wednesday afternoon.

According to the La Palma Police, the collision happened at La Palma Avenue and Moody Street.

Reportedly, the incident started when the officer pursued 43-year-old Anthony Hanzal of as a theft suspect just before 12:40 p.m. at North Gilbert Street and West Malvern Avenue.

The police attempted to pull Hanzal over, but he refused.

The police initiated a chase and the car was involved in a non-injury hit-and-run collision near Brookhurst Road and Orangethrope Avenue, but the pursuit continued onto Highway 91.

La Palma police joined the pursuit near La Palma Avenue and Walker Street, but the chase ended at La Palma Avenue and Moody Street, where the driver crashed into a BMW.

The BMW driver, a woman in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men and a woman, including the suspect, were injured in the crash and taken to an area hospital for treatment.

No additional information about the crash was reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
