According to police, one person died at the crash scene.
Two others were hospitalized, one of them in critical condition and the other with minor injuries.
Among the vehicles involved were a Kia SUV that overturned onto its side and sustained severe front-end damage, an Audi SUV, a red sedan, and another car that hit a tree in the center median.

Investigators closed the eastbound lanes of Olympic Boulevard between Centinela Avenue and Stewart Street as they worked the scene.
