police said a Chevrolet pickup was traveling on 5th Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign at Montgomery Street.

Two Pickup Trucks Collide at Oroville Intersection, Leaving One Dead and Two Hurt

Oroville, CA. – One person died, and two others were hospitalized after two pickup trucks collided Sunday evening at an intersection in Oroville.

The wreck was reported around 6 p.m. at Montgomery Street and 5th Avenue.

Oroville police said a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling on 5th Avenue at a high rate of speed when the driver failed to stop at the posted stop sign at Montgomery Street.

The Chevy collided with a Ford pickup truck that was headed east on Montgomery Street. The driver of the Ford was not able to stop in time to avoid a collision.

Responding emergency personnel found the driver of the Chevy unconscious inside the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead after failed life-saving measures.

The driver of the Ford and a passenger were taken to a local hospital with moderate injuries.

Investigators closed the intersection for about three and a half hours following the crash.
