Police said a 27-year-old man was riding a homebuilt pocket bike when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a 2016 Lexus SUV that was heading north on Chamoune Avenue
San Diego, CA.- A bicyclist was injured in a collision with a vehicle in San Diego on Sunday evening, according to a report by the San Diego Police Department.
The crash took place at about 7:05 p.m. August 18, in the 4500 block of Thorn Street at Chamoune Avenue.
Police said a 27-year-old man was riding a homebuilt pocket bike when he failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a 2016 Lexus SUV that was heading north on Chamoune Avenue.
The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police said DUI is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The investigation is ongoing.
