Wilton, CA.- One person was injured in a collision involving a horse rider in Wilton on Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The wreck took place at about 7:50 p.m. April 4, on Cosumnes Road near Wilton Road.
The CHP reported that a person was riding a horse when they were hit by a vehicle in the area.
The rider of the horse was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The horse died at the scene of the accident.
The roadway was closed as authorities worked to clear the scene.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
