, CA – One person was critically injured in a in Citrus Heights on Thursday evening, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District.

The wreck took place in the area of Old Ranch Road and Oak Avenue just before 5 p.m.

According to the report, two cars were involved in the collision and one of them slammed into a tree.

One person was pulled out of the car and was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

The eastbound and the westbound lanes of Old Ranch Road were shut down as authorities investigated the wreck.

The investigation is ongoing.
