Umatilla County, Oregon (July 10, 2023) – Authorities have identified the victim injured in a crash Sunday afternoon in Umatilla County that claimed the life of Douglas Jack McEwen, 76, of Pendleton.

54-year-old Erin Terese Wyttenbach of Athena was injured in a two-car crash at around 1:47 p.m. July 9 on Highway 11 and Highway 331.

Per the report, McEwen was driving a southbound Chevrolet Silverado o Highway 11 when he attempted to make a left turn on Highway 331 and failed to yield a Ford Excursion going north.

The two vehicles collided head-on.

McEwen was not wearing a seatbelt at the crash and died at the scene.

The Ford driver, Wyttenbach sustained injuries and was rushed to a local hospital for treatment.

The northbound lane of Highway 11 was impacted for several hours as officers investigated the collision.

An investigation into the wreck is ongoing.
