Phoenix, AZ – A woman sustained major injuries in a traffic collision in Phoenix on Sunday morning, according Phoenix Police Department.

The wreck took place near 27th Avenue and Buckeye Road at about 8:30 a.m. on August 24.

A white SUV and a red SUV collided in the area, and the impact caused the red SUV to flip onto its roof.

A woman driving one of the cars was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The other driver, a man, was taken to the hospital and was said to be in stable condition.

The crash caused the closure of the intersection as authorities investigated the incident.

The crash remains under investigation.
