Vallejo, CA – A pedestrian died days after being hit by a vehicle earlier this month in Vallejo, the Vallejo Police Department reported.

The accident took place shortly after 10 p.m. March 16, on Georgia and Contra Costa streets.

Investigations reveal that a vehicle struck man walking near the intersection. A detailed information on how the accident transpired was not available.

The VPD officers and emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after and they found the severely injured pedestrian.

The man was taken to a hospital with major and was hospitalized until Tuesday, March 24, when he succumbed to the injuries sustained. Authorities are yet to release the pedestrian’s identity.

According to police, the driver who hit the pedestrian cooperated with the investigators. Initial reports indicate that alcohol or drug impairment was not suspected to have contributed to the accident.
