Sunland, CA – The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner has identified an elderly woman killed in a Tuesday afternoon traffic collision on Foothill Boulevard in Sunland as 76-year-old Anait Babakhanyan.
The wreck was reported in the 8200 block of Foothill Boulevard near McVine Avenue and the Haines Canyon Channel at around 4:30 p.m. on February 18, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Two vehicles collided in the area in unclear circumstances.
Babakhanyan was trapped and had to be extricated. She was pronounced dead at the crash site.
A 60-year-old man was critically injured and a 35-year-old woman was reported to be in fair condition. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.
It was unclear what led up to the collision.
An investigation is ongoing.
