San Luis Obispo, CA – The motorcycle rider who was killed in a crash with a vehicle in San Luis Obispo on Tuesday morning has been identified by the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

25-year-old Jeremiah Gerlach, of San Luis Obispo, was the victim of the deadly wreck that happened on Broad Street near Caudill Street just before 9 a.m. March 24.

An investigation revealed that Gerlach was riding a motorcycle south on Broad Street when he crashed into the rear of a silver sedan that was trying to make a left turn from southbound Broad Street onto Caudill Street.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department officers and emergency personnel arrived at the scene and found Gerlach suffering from major injuries. Medics transported Gerlach to a hospital, where he was later declared deceased.

The operator of the other involved vehicle was not hurt and was cooperative with the authorities. According to police, speed and impairment were not suspected to have factored in the crash.

An ongoing investigation into the collision is being conducted by the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

San Luis Obispo, CA – The motorcyclist who was seriously injured in a crash with a vehicle in San Luis Obispo Tuesday morning died at the hospital, according to the San Luis Obispo Police Department.

The deadly wreck took place on Broad Street near Caudill Street shortly before 9 a.m. March 24.

Police reported that the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Broad Street and crashed into the back of a silver sedan that was making a left turn from southbound Broad Street onto Caudill Street.

San Luis Obispo police and emergency personnel responded to the scene and found the motorcyclist suffering from major injuries.

Medics transported the rider to a hospital for further treatment but the victim was later pronounced deceased. The victim’s name was not immediately released pending notification of the next-of-kin.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured and was cooperative with the investigators. According to investigators, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs was not suspected to have been a factor in the collision.

The San Luis Obispo Police Department is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the wreck.
