Sacramento, CA – A pedestrian was killed early Friday morning after being struck by a vehicle on Folsom Blvd near the light rail station in the East Sacramento area, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The incident occurred on Folsom Blvd near the IFO Light Rail Station between 9300 and 9387 Folsom Blvd at approximately 6:54 a.m. on January 9.
Preliminary CHP logs indicate the crash involved a silver sedan that collided with a pedestrian, leaving the pedestrian in the roadway.
Emergency responders, including fire personnel, arrived on scene shortly after the report. The initial traffic collision investigation was later updated to a fatality incident at 8:56 a.m. as CHP confirmed that the pedestrian had died from injuries sustained in the crash.
At this time, CHP has not released any identifying information about those involved. There is no indication in the CHP incident log that any arrests were made in connection with this collision.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by CHP. No official determination has been made regarding contributing factors at this point.
