According to investigators, Mary Colleen Murphy was crossing Novato Boulevard with her dog when she was struck by a car driven by an 18-year-old man. The impact left Murphy seriously injured. Her dog died in the collision.
First responders transported Murphy to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. His identity was not released.
