Police said a Honda CRV was traveling eastbound when it failed to negotiate a turn, lost control, and struck a concrete barrier

Jackson County, OR – One person was killed and another was critically injured Wednesday night in a car accident in Jackson County, according to the Oregon State Police.
The deadly collision occurred around 9:25 p.m. on September 3 at the intersection of Highway 62 Expressway and Highway 62.
Police said a Honda CRV was traveling eastbound when it failed to negotiate a turn, lost control, and struck a concrete barrier.
The Honda caught fire, trapping two occupants inside.
Both victims had to be extricated.
A passenger in the Honda, Michael R Graham, 20, of Eagle Point, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Honda driver, Anthony Ruben Graham, 19, of Eagle Point, was taken to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
The accident closed the highway for about four hours.
Excessive speed was a primary factor in the accident.
The police are investigating the accident.
