, OR – One person was killed following a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 in Jackson County early Saturday morning, according to the Oregon State Police (OSP).

The collision occurred on Interstate 5 near milepost 46 at approximately 3:59 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

According to OSP's preliminary investigation, Ana Azuchena Villa-Rodriguez, 31, of Medford, was driving a Nissan Altima southbound on Interstate 5 when, for some reason, the driver attempted to make a U-turn and was struck by a southbound Dodge Ram 2500 operated by Kenneth George Brito, 50, of Grants Pass.

Villa-Rodriguez was declared deceased at the scene. Brito was reportedly uninjured, and authorities did not report any arrests related to the two-vehicle crash.

The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and Oregon State Police continue to investigate the events leading up to the collision.

OSP troopers responded to the scene and were assisted by the Rogue River Fire Department and the Oregon Department of Transportation during the on-scene investigation and traffic control.

Interstate 5 was impacted for approximately four hours as emergency personnel conducted the investigation and worked to clear the roadway, resulting in traffic delays in the area.

The Jackson County crash remains under investigation by the Oregon State Police as officials work to determine contributing factors.
