The family of Anthony James said he had just retired from his job after working at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for 43 years when he died in the crash.
Los Angeles, CA. – The man who died in a suspected DUI accident that happened last month in Hyde Park has been identified.
The family of Anthony James said he had just retired from his job after working at the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for 43 years when he died in the crash.
The accident occurred around 4 a.m. on August 31 on Crenshaw Boulevard.
James had just retired on August 30.
Authorities said James was backing out of his driveway when a DUI suspect driving down Crenshaw Boulevard collided with his car.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and pronounced James dead at the scene.
The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Viniesha Horsley, was taken to the hospital in unknown condition. Horsley was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence. She was later released and sent back to law enforcement for further investigation.
