Authorities said a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Loren Soderholm failed to stop at an intersection and entered the path of a westbound Volvo XC9 leading to the deadly crash
Linn County, OR – The Oregon State Police has identified a victim killed in a traffic collision on Highway 20 in Linn County Wednesday night as Loren Duane Soderholm, 72, of Albany.
The accident occurred at around 8:25 p.m. on March 12 on State Route 20 at Knox Butte Road.
A preliminary investigation indicated an eastbound Hyundai Santa Fe driven by Soderholm failed to stop at the intersection and entered the path of a westbound Volvo XC9, operated by Jayden Loren Viars, 19, of Menasha (WI), causing a side impact collision.
Soderholm was transported to an area hospital and later declared deceased.
Viars suffered reported minor injuries.
The highway was impacted for approximately three hours during the on-scene investigation.
