Pine Valley, CA – The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a victim killed in a rear-end crash on 8 Freeway in Pine Valley last month as 86-year-old James Michel of Yuma.
The incident happened at around 8 p.m. on April 24 on Interstate 8 near Buckman Springs Road, according to the CHP.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Michel was driving a westbound car when for unknown reasons he rear-ended another car.
Michel was transported to UCSD Medical Center where he died this week.
More information about the accident was not provided.
An investigation is underway.
