Jackson County, OR – One person was killed Saturday evening following a three-vehicle crash at an intersection in Jackson County, according to the Oregon State Police (OSP).
The collision occurred at the intersection of Kirtland Road (Highway 140) and High Banks Road at approximately 5:46 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
According to OSP’s preliminary investigation, a Cadillac Escalade driven by Michael Bryan Dickerson, 74, of Grants Pass, was traveling northbound on High Banks Road when it entered Kirtland Road and was struck by a Ford Escape operated by a 16-year-old female from Central Point. Approximately five minutes after the initial crash, a Harley-Davidson Electra Glide motorcycle traveling eastbound struck the Cadillac at a reported high rate of speed.
The motorcycle rider, identified as Jeremy Bruno Fantechi, 27, of Grants Pass, was declared deceased at the scene. Dickerson, the driver of the Cadillac, was reportedly uninjured, as was the juvenile driver of the Ford Escape. No arrests were reported in connection with the collision.
OSP has not yet determined the exact cause of the crash, and the investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to review contributing factors.
Oregon State Police responded to the scene and were assisted by the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Jackson County Fire District 3, and the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) during the on-scene investigation.
The crash significantly impacted traffic in the area, with Highway 140 affected for approximately four hours while investigators worked at the scene and crews cleared the roadway.
The fatal Jackson County crash remains under investigation by Oregon State Police as officials work to determine the full sequence of events that led to the collision.
