Riverside County, CA – A pedestrian suffered head trauma Wednesday afternoon after being struck by a sedan while crossing Magnolia Avenue near Neece Street, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP received a report of a “pedestrian down” at 4:22 p.m. Emergency crews already in the area responded and found the victim in the roadway with a head injury.
Paramedics treated the pedestrian at the scene before transporting them to Riverside Community Hospital. Officials said the victim was conscious during treatment.
All lanes of Magnolia Avenue were temporarily closed while officers responded and assessed the scene. The driver remained on site and was detained as part of the investigation, though it was not immediately clear whether an arrest would be made. Traffic was reopened shortly before 5 p.m.
