Fresno, CA – A 3-year-old child was injured after being struck by a construction truck at a residence in Fresno on Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

The incident occurred near Stanislaus and Plumas streets just before 3:00 p.m. on April 29, 2026.

Authorities said a construction worker was backing up a truck in the backyard of a home near the intersection when the vehicle struck the child.

The child sustained severe injuries, including a broken arm and head trauma, and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center before being transferred to Valley Children’s Hospital for further treatment. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No arrests have been reported.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene to assist the child and coordinate medical transport.

The case remains under investigation by Fresno police.
