Selma, CA – 30-year-old Evan Reed died after his motorcycle collided with a garbage truck Monday afternoon at an intersection in Selma, the Fresno County Coroner’s Office reported.

According to investigators, Reed, a Selma resident, was riding a motorcycle north on Temperance Avenue and a garbage truck was also traveling in the same direction when the driver of the truck started to turn while the motorcyclist was attempting to pass.
The motorcycle struck the garbage truck.
Reed was killed in the accident.
The driver of the truck was uninjured but was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
