A female passenger of the Mazda was flown to Saint Agnes Medical Center where she later succumbed to injuries

Fresno County, CA. – A woman died in a crash involving a big rig on Wednesday afternoon in Fresno County.
The crash happened on I-5 just north of the Jayne Avenue at around 12 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A 2025 Freightliner was approaching stopped traffic when it failed to stop on time and struck a 2022 Mazda CX-5.
The impact caused the Mazda to strike the rear of a Toyota Tundra while the Freightliner continued and rear-ended a 2024 Mercedes E350 before it jackknifed.
A female passenger of the Mazda was flown to Saint Agnes Medical Center where she later succumbed to injuries.
Two passengers of the Mercedes were transported to Adventist Health Hospital with unknown injuries.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
