Four Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Santa Fe Drive in Merced County

Merced County, CA – Four people were injured, two seriously, following a two-vehicle collision on Santa Fe Drive in Ballico Tuesday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 3:42 p.m. on westbound Santa Fe Drive, just east of El Capitan Way.

CHP logs indicated that a Subaru and a Fiat collided, blocking the westbound lanes of Santa Fe Drive.

Emergency crews, including CAL FIRE, responded to the scene and temporarily shut down the roadway to attend to the injured and clear the wreckage.

According to CHP, two people suffered major injuries and two others sustained minor injuries.

Tow trucks were requested to remove the damaged vehicles.

The roadway was reopened later that afternoon after cleanup and investigation efforts concluded.

The Merced County crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
