Phoenix, AZ – A man on an electric scooter was killed by a hit-and-run driver at a west Phoenix intersection on Saturday night.
The deadly crash happened shortly after 7:30 p.m. on August 16 in the area of 67th Avenue and Indian School Road.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and located a man, identified as 59-year-old Eden Cuautli Zacatelco, in the roadway and unresponsive.
Zacatelco was transported to a medical center where he died a short time later.
Phoenix police said Zacatelco was riding an electric scooter westbound on Indian School when he was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle, believed to be a black truck, fled without rendering aid to the victim or contacting 911.
The incident remains under investigation.
