Cave Creek, AZ – One of the victims injured in a fiery two-vehicle collision near an intersection in Cave Creek mid-last month has died, according to a report.
The crash occurred shortly before 11:00 p.m. on May 16, 2026, near Carefree Highway and 12th Street in Cave Creek.
Authorities said a car and a truck collided under circumstances that remain unclear before both vehicles erupted into flames. Five people were in the truck at the time of the collision. Bystanders at the scene reportedly flipped the truck over in an effort to rescue trapped occupants before firefighters arrived.
Family members identified the deceased victim as Teresa. Teresa had remained in the intensive care unit since the crash before succumbing to her injuries, her family said on a GoFundMe page. A total of six people were injured in the collision and transported to hospitals for treatment. Four of the patients were in critical condition. No arrests were reported.
Firefighters and emergency crews responded to the scene shortly after the collision was reported and worked to rescue the trapped victims and extinguish the fire.
The crash caused significant emergency response activity in the area as authorities investigated the scene and assisted the injured victims.
