Cathedral City, CA – A bicycle rider was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection in Cathedral City on Monday.
According to the Cathedral City Police Department, the incident took place on Dinah Shore Drive and Eagle Canyon Drive on Monday, February 9.
A preliminary investigation determined that a teenage rider was riding a bicycle westbound on Dinah Shore Drive when he was hit by a vehicle that was attempting to make a turn onto eastbound Dinah Shore Drive from Eagle Canyon Drive.
The bicycle rider, an 18-year-old man, had minor injuries in the crash and was transported to a hospital by emergency medical services personnel from the Cathedral City Fire Department.
Initial reports indicate that both the bicyclist and the involved driver were responsible for the collision but authorities did not specify their roles. The Cathedral City Police Department is handling an ongoing investigation into the incident.
