According to investigators, a 36-year-old Barstow man was driving a 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUV westbound on Bear Valley Road when it drifted into the eastbound side.
Apple Valley, CA – The authorities have released the identity of a man who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Friday evening in Apple Valley.
According to the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office, Juan P. Garcia, 28, of Apple Valley, died following the accident that took place at about 7:46 p.m. August 7, on Bear Valley Road near Deep Creek Road.
According to investigators, a 36-year-old Barstow man was driving a 2007 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUV westbound on Bear Valley Road when it drifted into the eastbound side.
The SUV crashed head-on with an oncoming 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 pickup truck driven by Garcia.
Garcia was pronounced deceased at the site of the accident. Two children riding with him in the vehicle were hospitalized in stable condition.
The other driver was taken to a hospital with major injuries.
It’s unclear whether intoxication played any role in the accident.
The sheriff’s Major Accident Investigation Team is conducting an investigation to establish the circumstances of the accident.
