A preliminary investigation revealed that a 77-year-old man was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer when, for unknown reasons, he struck a 2011 Toyota Highlander on its right side, causing the Highlander to overturn

Imperial County, CA – An 8-year-old girl was killed in a Tuesday mid-morning traffic collision at an intersection in Imperial County.
The accident happened at around 11:05 a.m. at Brawley Avenue and State Route 86, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 77-year-old man was driving a 2023 Chevrolet Blazer when, for unknown reasons, he struck a 2011 Toyota Highlander on its right side, causing the Highlander to overturn.
A 38-year-old woman driving the Toyota sustained moderate injuries.
A 2-year-old female passenger in the Toyota sustained unknown injuries.
An 8-year-old female passenger was ejected from the Toyota and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 77-year-old man driving the Chevrolet and an 82-year-old woman passenger did not sustain any injuries.
