Fresno, CA – Two people, including a young girl, were killed and a man was injured following a single-vehicle crash at a Fresno intersection late Tuesday night.
The deadly incident happened at about 11:07 p.m. on October 28 at the intersection of West Belmont Avenue and North Brawley Avenue.
Investigators said a 21-year-old woman was operating a white Kia at a high rate of speed when she ran a stop sign, went off the roadway, struck a power pole, a fence, a parked car, and several trees before coming to rest in a freight yard.
The female driver suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. A 14-year-old girl who was a passenger in the vehicle was taken to the hospital where she later died.
A 27-year-old male passenger suffered major injuries and was hospitalized.
The names of the deceased parties and the injured man were not immediately released.
The driver and the front-seat passenger were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
