Hayward, CA – A 64-year-old male bicyclist from Hayward was killed in a crash at Depot Road in Hayward Friday morning.
According to the Hayward Police Department, the deadly wreck was reported at around 10:19 a.m. at Depot Road and Adrian Avenue near Chabot College.
Reportedly, a vehicle driven by 35-year-old man struck the bicyclist at the intersection in unclear circumstances.
The male bicyclist was transported to the hospital with severe injuries, where he was pronounced dead.
The name of the deceased was withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
The driver behind the wheel stayed at the crash site and cooperated with the investigators.
DUI was not believed to be a factor in the crash.
An investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the wreck is underway.
