Bakersfield, CA – Four were injured Sunday night following a rollover crash in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision was reported around 8:00 p.m. on October 19 on Shadow Hills Drive at Alfred Harrel Highway, east of Fairfax Road
According to the CHP, a 17-year-old boy from Bakersfield was driving a 2020 white Toyota Camry eastbound on Alfred Harrel within the second lane and was driving at an excess speed of 80mph.
At some point, the boy lost control and the car veered into the westbound lane of the highway and onto the north shoulder of the roadway, and rolled down a steep embankment, coming to rest on its wheels on a dirt shoulder of Shadow Hills Drive.
Four people inside the vehicle were hospitalized with moderate to serious injuries, with one of the passengers being listed in critical condition.
Additional details were not available.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
