Bakersfield, CA. – One of the four teenagers who was injured in a rollover collision more than a week ago in northeast Bakersfield has died, her family said.

The single-vehicle crash occurred around 7:55 p.m. near Shadow Hills Drive and Alfred Harrell Highway east of Fairfax.
According to the California Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old Bakersfield man was driving a 2020 white Toyota Camry on eastbound Alfred Harrell Highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control and veered into the westbound lane. The car then rolled down an embankment.
The driver and his three passengers, all 17-year-olds, were transported to Kern Medical with moderate to major injuries.
Two of the passengers, who are twin sisters, sustained serious injuries. One of them was in a coma due to bleeding in her brain, and the other had a broken leg. Both underwent surgery for their injuries.
The family of the twins, on a GoFundMe page, said one of the girls died from her injuries.
Authorities said the driver could face vehicular manslaughter charges.

Bakersfield, CA – Four were injured Sunday night following a rollover crash in Bakersfield, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The collision was reported around 8:00 p.m. on October 19 on Shadow Hills Drive at Alfred Harrel Highway, east of Fairfax Road
According to the CHP, a 17-year-old boy from Bakersfield was driving a 2020 white Toyota Camry eastbound on Alfred Harrel within the second lane and was driving at an excess speed of 80mph.
At some point, the boy lost control and the car veered into the westbound lane of the highway and onto the north shoulder of the roadway, and rolled down a steep embankment, coming to rest on its wheels on a dirt shoulder of Shadow Hills Drive.
Four people inside the vehicle were hospitalized with moderate to serious injuries, with one of the passengers being listed in critical condition.
Additional details were not available.
The CHP is investigating the accident.
