Phoenix, AZ.- One person was killed in a single-car accident in central Phoenix early Tuesday morning, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The accident took place at around 2 a.m. near McDowell Road and Central Avenue.
A vehicle was traveling on McDowell Road when it left the roadway, for an unknown reason, and slammed into a palm tree.
The sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The accident led to the closure of McDowell Road as authorities worked to clear the scene.
Authorities are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
