According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened on southbound 710 Freeway near Olympic Boulevard at around 7 a.m.
47-year-old Julio Escoto was riding a bicycle in the area and was struck by a gray Honda CRV.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
