Pinon Hills, CA – The three people who were killed in a head-on crash on State Route 18 in Pinon Hills Saturday night have been identified, according to authorities.

The San Bernardino County Medical Examiner identified the deceased as 58-year-old Javier Hernandez Ramirez of Pacoima, 51-year-old Marisela Orozco of Pacoima, and 18-year-old Alfredo Orozco of Covina.

The fatal collision occurred on eastbound SR-18 east of Minero Road at approximately 8:10 p.m. on May 9, 2026, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The California Highway Patrol said a black Jeep Wrangler was traveling westbound on SR-18 when it crossed into the eastbound lane directly in front of a silver Honda Odyssey, causing a head-on collision. Authorities said all three victims were trapped inside the Honda Odyssey following the crash.

The driver, Javier Ramirez, and passengers, Marisela Orozco and Alfredo Orozco, were pronounced dead at the scene. Three additional occupants of the Honda Odyssey survived and were transported to hospitals for treatment. Two of the injured patients suffered critical injuries and were airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center, while another was transported by ground ambulance. The driver of the Jeep Wrangler sustained major injuries and was transported to St. Mary Medical Center. No arrests were reported.

Authorities said drugs and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors in the collision.

CHP officers and San Bernardino County Fire personnel responded to the scene and conducted rescue operations, including extricating trapped victims from the Honda Odyssey. Firefighters later returned to assist the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office with recovery efforts.

The crash caused the closure of SR-18 in both directions for several hours while emergency crews and investigators worked at the scene. The roadway reopened at approximately 5 a.m. Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash
