Fresno County, CA – At least one person was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash at an intersection in Laton on Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP incident logs indicate that the crash involved two pickup trucks, including a Ford F-150. Both vehicles reportedly overturned following the collision, and one vehicle went through a chain-link fence, travelled approximately 25 to 30 feet, and damaged several steel posts. The events leading up to the crash were not immediately determined.
Authorities said at least one person sustained serious injuries. The injured party was transported to Community Regional Medical Center. Multiple occupants were initially trapped inside the vehicles. Bystanders attempted to assist them before emergency crews arrived. All parties were eventually able to exit the vehicles.
Emergency responders, including CHP units and medical personnel, arrived at the scene and transported at least one injured person to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Family members were notified at the scene.
The crash caused disruptions at the Cedar Avenue and East Mount Whitney Avenue intersection as crews worked to clear the wreckage and investigate the incident. Both vehicles sustained major damage and required towing.
The incident remains under investigation by authorities.
