San Luis, AZ – A 28-year-old man was killed in a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle that occurred in the San Luis area on Tuesday morning, according to the San Luis Police Department.
The incident was reported shortly before 7:30 a.m. March 3, on State Route 195 near milepost 8.
According to investigators, an earlier collision on eastbound SR 195 near milepost 9 was slowing down traffic on the highway. A black 2023 BMW SUV lost control and slammed into a 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
The force of the crash sent both vehicles off the roadway and they ended up in the dirt median.
The San Luis Police Department reported that the motorcyclist was taken to Onvida Health, where he was pronounced deceased. He was identified as Andres Ramirez, 28, of San Luis.
No other injuries were reported in the incident. Impairment and speed do not appear to have played a role in the crash, the San Luis police reported.
