Yuma, AZ – A 49-year-old man was seriously injured after his motorcycle collided with a Jeep Wrangler at an intersection in Yuma on Wednesday night, according to the Yuma Police Department.

Preliminary investigation by Yuma police revealed that the male motorcycle rider was traveling eastbound on 24th Street when he collided with a Jeep Wrangler driven by a 19-year-old woman. The Jeep was making a left-hand turn onto Parkview Loop from 24th Street at the time of the crash.
The 49-year-old motorcycle operator was transported to Onvida Health and later flown to a Phoenix area hospital in serious condition. The 19-year-old female driver of the Jeep was checked at Onvida Health and released. Authorities did not report any arrests in connection with the collision.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor in this case, according to the Yuma Police Department’s preliminary findings.
Yuma Police officers and emergency personnel responded to the scene, provided medical aid, and began the investigative process shortly after the crash was reported.
Traffic at the intersection of 24th Street and Parkview Loop was affected during the investigation, with possible delays as officers worked to gather evidence and clear the scene.
