San Bernardino, CA – A collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle in San Bernardino claimed the life of a local woman on Thursday evening, according to the San Bernardino Police Department.

The incident occurred in the 4000 block of N State Street. According to the San Bernardino Police Department, officers responded to the scene of the collision at approximately 6:38 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Upon arrival, the officers learned that Sarah Virgen Sosa, a 22-year-old resident of San Bernardino, had been struck and severely injured.

Sosa was immediately transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased at 10:34 PM the same night.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances leading up to the fatal crash. Details about the driver involved and the cause of the collision have not yet been released.
