Morrow County, OR– One person was killed on Friday night in a two-vehicle collision in Morrow County, authorities said.
The fatal collision occurred at around 11:43 p.m. September 12, on Interstate 84, on the milepost 159 on-ramp.
According to OSP, a Volkswagen Jetta, operated by Austin Yager, 38, of Bend, was travelling eastbound when it suffered a mechanical failure at the on-ramp.
The vehicle then stopped on the roadway with its visible lights not working.
After some time, an eastbound vehicle driven by Adonis Marcial, 33, of Miami, entered the on-ramp and struck the stationary Volkswagen, whose driver was already outside the vehicle.
Yager died at the scene while Marcial was not injured.
The highway was not impacted during the on-scene investigations.
