Linn County, CA – The Oregon State Police is investigating a deadly single-vehicle accident that left a driver dead on Highway 20 in Linn County on Sunday night.
The deadly collision happened on August 17, 2025, at 9:22 a.m. on Highway 20, near milepost 4.
The preliminary investigation indicated that Ryker Thomas Pittam, 19, of Albany, was traveling westbound in a Toyota 4Runner when he swerved to avoid another vehicle attempting to make a left turn into a driveway.
Pittam lost control and the Toyota rolled, ejecting him in the process.
Pittam was taken to an area hospital and was later pronounced dead.
The highway was shut down for approximately two hours as OSP, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, and ODOT investigated the incident.
