Phoenix, CA – A woman was killed after two vehicles collided near an intersection in central Phoenix late Saturday night.

The deadly accident happened at around 9:30 p.m. on August 16 near 7th and Northern avenues.

Phoenix police said a sedan and a tow truck were involved in the crash.

The driver of the sedan, identified as 92-year-old Carolyn Pain, was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where she later died.

Investigators said Pain was traveling northbound on 7th Avenue and failed to yield while turning left on Northern Avenue, and collided with a tow truck.

The driver of the tow truck, along with his two passengers – a female teen and an infant – were not hurt.

The crash remains under investigation.
